Formatting limitations when using Copy and Paste from MS Word to Kahua rich text fields

Rich text fields appear in multiple apps in Kahua, such as Messages, Communications, Meeting Minutes, etc. These fields allow fonts, styles, color, and other attributes to be applied to text. There is a known limitation when copying formatted text from Microsoft Word to a rich text field in Kahua, where some formatting can be stripped away during the transfer. This can result in text appearing differently in the rich text editor compared to the original formatting in Word.

To reduce the formatting loss, use the keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste) instead of the right-click Copy and Paste options. While some formatting may still be removed, using the keyboard shortcuts to copy and paste generally retains more of the source formatting from the original text than using the right-click options does. We recommend using keyboard shortcuts when pasting text from Word to enhance your editing experience in Kahua.
